Well, last night in Hull was gorgeous. Managed to catch up with Sue Baker, long time pal and unofficial press agent for FA in Britain’s Fish Capital. Nice cuppa in the afternoon. And then the gang arrived - Mary (resplendent as ever in sequins), Sasha, Alex, Dean and sundry others who couldn’t have been jollier. And Hull itself looking busy and prosperous. ...
So nearly at the end. Staying in a Holiday Inn. I used to hate chain hotels, but I’ve been on the road so long I find them rather a relief. A famous country singer called Ernest Tubb, (well, he was famous in C&W terms) toured about 200 nights a year right up to his death. And he felt so uncomfortable when he was back home that he had an annex built on his house...
